There’s a rather neat device from a company in Austria that’s wending its steady way to my place. This clever gadget analyses USB-C cables that are connected to it to determine which and how many pins are connected. It then runs tests to evaluate the power handling capability and data transfer rate of the cable, if it’s a power and data one or just a charging cable.

I woke on Monday morning with a severe irritation in my left eye. I already had an appointment with the doctor so while in his room got him to check it out. Viral conjunctivitis was the diagnosis. I have an ointment which I apply every 3 to 4 hours. It brings considerable relief.

In my outdoors working life I sustained fractures to five fingers, four of which are now affected by arthritis. Of those, three are exceedingly painful at present, indicating a change in the weather is iminent.

Had the iron infusion a bit over 12 hours ago. it's going to take a couple of weeks to fully take effect, though.

THINGS WE DID:
Built This City, Shot The Sheriff.

THINGS WE DIDN'T DO:
Start The Fire, Shoot The Deputy.

THINGS WE WANT TO DO:
Break Free, Know What Love Is.

THINGS WE WILL DO:
Rock You, Anything For Love.

THINGS WE WON'T DO:
That.

The nearest to being painful is when the cannula is fitted and when cold saline is used to flush the lines.

Four months.that's all it lasted. I had an iron infusion on March 17th. I have an appointment with the gastroenterologist tomorrow, he tells me I need another iron infusion.

I repeated the dinner from Sunday using leftovers but this time I used more meat. There’s enough gravy, parsnip, carrot and mushy peas for one more feed and enough roast lamb for probably three more meals.
There’s meat is a rolled lamb loin that’s about 150 mm long and 65mm diameter. Apart from a tiny fat cap, it’s all meat.

Had a quite tasty dinner tonight. Roast lamb in brown onion gravy, with mushy peas and roasted parsnips and carrots. Plenty of lamb left over with enough veggies alone for another meal.

Thanks for making that so simple, Apple. (I need a sarcasm font). Instructions for force-restarting an iPad without a Home button:
1. Press and quickly release the volume up button.2. Press and quickly release the volume down button.3. Press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

This of course didn’t work. It only invokes Siri. What they don’t tell you is that screen orientation is crucial. In landscape mode, the volume up button is the one furthest away from the top or power button and the volume down is the closer one.
Changing to portrait mode, the buttons are reversed. The process now worked.

So I went deeper into the rabbit-hole and found the the instructions to deal with a frozen or unresponsive iPad.
1. Press and quickly release the volume button closest to the top button.2. Press and quickly release the volume button furthest from the top button3. Press and hold the top button until the device restarts.

They need to clearly state that the iPad be held in portrait orientation to perform a forced restart when specifying volume up and volume down buttons OR refer to the volume buttons as closest to and furthest from the power button.
