Started the 2008 MBP at Mum’ Place. The backlighting of the display shows alternating Lines about ¾ of an inch wide running up from the bottom of the screen, leaving vertical stripes of shadow that’s really hard on the eyes. Did the requiremented updates & restarted. All OK, standard screen illumination.
One less mouse in the house. Cat presented me with another dead one, left in the usual place: in the doorway to the bathroom from the corridor that goes to the 3 bedrooms.
Supermarket has 460 gram tin of a particular chocolate selection at ½ price, for $15. Tempted until I saw the same selections in a smaller 308 gram bag. It’s also ½ price, at $8. Considerably cheaper per 100 grams for the bag. With the other, though, you do get a nice tin.
I’m a few weeks shy of 59 yrs old. The Xrays show age-related wear in the ankle. Ultrasounds show Tenosynovitis, which is the inflammation of the fluid-filled sheath (called the synovium) that surrounds a tendon, typically leading to joint pain, swelling, and stiffness. The affected tendon is the posterior tibial one. If pain persists, I’ll get a cortisone injection under ultrasound direction into the affected area.
About 8 years ago I salvaged a 250 GB HDD from a dead PC laptop. Today I pressed it into service as an additional Time Machine backup drive for my iMac. Finder says its 249 GB, Time Machine says it's 192 GB.
I've been using DiskWarrior in various forms since at least 2005. Today when salvaging my Time Machine backup drive it performed an unexpected 11th step & saved some "Rescued Items" in a new folder of 1·9 MB.
