There's a little church in London that's only open twice a year. My mother left a collapsable umbrella there once, it had her name & address on it. It was still there, 18 months later, where Mum said she'd left it. My sister was on holiday there & collected it for her.

Went to download a free MAS app on the Men's Shed iMac. Bloody MAS needed to have the payment nethod confirmed before anything could be downloaded. Payment method is None, we redeem iTunes cards as needed & have an $18 credit. But we still had to verify "None" to get a free app. FU, draconian Apple!

PAIN! In behind the right knee, associated with stiffness & reduced comfortable movement range. It's the same thing that made me fall at the darts comp last night. It's at its worst when I stand up and stagger a few steps forward. Very annoying & I don't know what the problem is. It's different ro sciatica although that's sometimes present as well. It's more an ache than a sharp pain.

……… funny you should say that…….

On one occasion we viewed security camera footage at a hospital that showed a small car failing to take a corner, striking the kerb and becoming airborne and striking a major cross-connect cabinet that was fed by five 200 pair cables. The entire unit had to be relocated further away, underground cables lengthened and every one of some 800 cross-connect jumpers had to be identified, tagged & replicated in the new structure. In the middle of winter, working in 12-hour shifts for at least eight days.

Played the whole 90 minute session of darts tonight afflicted with sciatica. Towards the end I got my feet tangled up and went down like a bag of shit. A 300 pound bag of shit. It took three of the other fellows to get me upright again.

Reminds me of my last full-time job. The final 18 months out of 31 years was spent locating "batch faults," ones with a common allocated cable identification pair range. In most cases it was unofficial copper recyclers either cutting or cutting & removing cable sections of a few 100 metres at a time. They didn't want cables with a grease-filling between the conductors as it was unnecessary weight, but generally they never knew what type they were cutting into until the cut was made. In most cases the cables were between 200 & 400 twisted pairs.

The street number part of the address of the retirement village whete we play darts & where the Men's Shed is located is 12 to 26.

The "security " code to get in the front doot is 1226#.

Somehow I don't think it's a coincidence.
