@literary Make a fake one.
If you are an older senior citizen and can no longer take care of yourself and need Long-Term Care, but the government says there is no Nursing Home Care available for you.
What do you do? You opt for Medicare Plan G.
The plan gives anyone 70 or older a gun (Part G) and one bullet.
You are now allowed to shoot one worthless politician.
This means you will be sent to prison for the rest of your life where you will receive three meals a day, a roof over your head, central heating and air conditioning, cable TV, a library, and all the health care you need.
If you have no previous convictions and behave yourself you will probably soon be transferred to an open plan prison where you can come and go as you please.
Need new teeth? No problem. Need glasses? That's great. Need a hearing aid, new hip, knees, kidney, lungs, sex change, or heart? Need a wheelchair or canes or crutches? They are all covered.
As an added bonus, your children can come and visit you at least as often as they do now!
And, who will be paying for all of this? The same government that just told you they can't afford for you to go into a nursing home.
And you will get rid of a useless politician while you are at it.
And now, because you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any more income taxes!
Is this a great country or what?
Now that you have solved your senior Long-Term Care problem, enjoy the rest of your week.
Loaded up some old dead appliances into the car (rear seats laid flat), taking microwave, tumble dryer & instantaneous hot water system to the metal recyclers.
My back may have come off second-best as a result of the heaving.
When the replacement dryer arrives later today I'll put it in the loungeroom in the interim, that's only two metres from the front door.
I've managed to find a second-hand dealer who'll deliver a used but still excellent tumble dryer for around ½ the cost of a similar new one. Happy with that.
About ½ the mob at Uncle Harry's wake.
Originally a 13.5 MB pic created with the Canon Photostitch app that came with a printer several years ago, I reduced it to ¼ the size with the Pixelmator iOS app.
My tumble dryer died on Monday afternoon. I've been looking around the shops and those things are more expensive than I recall them being in the past. There's one retailer I haven't considered yet, forgot about them until late yesterday after they closed for the day. They used to be a grocery clearance centre, but now they deal mostly in whitegoods of an unknown brand and general hardware as well as potatoes & eggs. I'll check the out in a couple of hours when they open for the day.
@streakmachine Podcast idea:
The Weekly Poo
Basically, it's just a recording of a cow pooing. New cow each week.
@hazardwarning I have a Nikon D5100 with four lenses & I get confused as to which settings are best for which effect. I recently discovered a website where I can, for $10 per lens, buy cheat sheets (as PDFs) for pretty much any setting available. The sheets are designed to be read on a smartphone or printed individually.
