It's a good thing I read reviews on the ultra-portable jumpstarter I bought yesterday. According to the instructions it comes precharged. I can confirm the reviews which state that any initial charge is dissapated in a few minutes.
However, once charged overnight it's supposed to be OK for six months.
@hazardwarning I use either Gaviscon or old-fashioned Eno powder in water. That works quite well, usually quicker than tablets.

Doing a Men's Shed lunchroom supply run tomorrow. Coffee, sugar, sponges, scourers, detergent, spray & creme cleansers, sweet biscuits, milk, garbage bags and disposable plates.
Re the latter, do I get paper, plastic or biocane? Biocane is made from sugarcane pulp & is recyclable/compostable. That said, we don't have ready access to compost or recycling programs.
@matigo No. One is half the other but all must be paid at once. The other (higher cost one) is a monthly payment.

11:50 am on a Monday morning. I have ceased to contemplate making breakfast, instead I'll deal with lunch, an "exotic" meal of soup & toast. I'm still in bed and I don't care. In fact, I'd be asleep if a hungry cat hadn't jumped on top of me.
