@nitinkhanna An atrocity that focuses on form over function.
@nitinkhanna This from Wikipedia: QuickTime is an extensible multimedia framework developed by Apple Inc., capable of handling various formats of digital video, picture, sound, panoramic images, and interactivity.
QuickTime X is the version which was released in 2009 with Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6). Users no longer had to buy & activate the Pro features of QuickTime 7 in order to edit media.
Most users quickly discovered that the X version was greatly lacking in the number & variety of export formats. Fortunately it's possible to install both QT 7 & QT X provided the former is not in the Applications folder (otherwise it gets over-ridden by QT updates). My copy of QT 7 Pro resides in the Utilities subfolder in the Applications folder.
An alternative location is the Applications folder in the user's home folder.

@indigo My 2011 MBP is still going well with a 256 GB SSD in place of the 500 GB HDD. Also has 12 GB RAM. The SDHC media card reader doesn't work now.

So you think a MBP is expensive. The current high-end 15-in Retina MBP starts at AU$4,099. Go back to 2006 & look at the price of the 17-in G4 PowerBook with a 1.67 GHz processor, that was AU$3,999. And in those days a dollar went a heck of a lot further than it does now.
@matigo Tim skipped the shareholder/executive bullshit.
Jony Ive made no appearance. There was no live music show.
I'm briefly getting back my old 2009 13-in MBP. The Mac User group bought it from me when I upgraded to a 15-in in 2011. Now it's being retired & I've been given the job of cleaning it up prior to sale. Similar Macs can be worth ~ $400.
The look on my son's face, when he opened his birthday present & saw it was flattened cardboard.
I said "You did say you wanted an ex-box?"
The Liverpool team visited an orphanage in Liverpool. "It’s heartbreaking to see their sad little faces with no hope" said Bradley aged 6.
I saw a play where the cast were suspended by ropes above the surface of the stage. I must congratulate them on a floorless performance!
