In my small collection of heritage Macs I have an SE FDHD that runs OS 6 but only via a 20 MB SCSI external HD.

Which unimaginative idiot decided the acronym had to be pronounced as "scuzzy" when "sexy" was also appropriate?

Bloody hell. What are these allegedly-informed fucksticks on? Apple News article on speeding up iPhone charging recommends never to use the USB ports on a computer because they only output 500 mA.
Which is utter bunk. Since at least 2011, Apple laptops have been able to pump out an extra 1600 mA on demand for such things as charging iOS devices or the Apple USB Superdrive if no optical drive is built-in.

Looking at buying a used Apple TV3, a reasonably-local advert appeared a few hours ago for one at a fair price.

I was quite the party animal in my younger days: it was rare for me to leave any turn unstoned.

I'm not a glass-half-full kind of a guy, more a "Wow! We have a glass!" type.

Same here. Currently if you pay monthly, it's $9.99 but if you pay for the same coverage over 12 months, it's $59.88 in a single lump.

Silly cow is just going to have to learn how things work with newer Macs & their software.
Mac User group member updated from old 10.6.8 iMac to new 10.12.5 iMac. Now she's bought DiskWarrior 5 on USB and doesn't want to use Terminal to update DW to work with the newer system.

Extract from the quick start manual: The DiskWarrior flash drive ships with the ability to start up any Intel Mac that originally came with OS X 10.4, 10.5 or 10.6 installed. If you have a newer Mac that originally came with OS X 10.7 or later then see the section “Launching DiskWarrior while started up from your Macʼs built-in OS X Recovery” below. After your startup disk is repaired, you can use the included DiskWarrior Recovery Maker to update the DiskWarrior flash drive to start up your newer Mac.
She says the USB stick won't boot up her new iMac.

Quite right, not until she uses Terminal while started from her Recovery Drive: the DW system has to be updated to work on 10.7 or newer & Terminal is how to do it.

That said, it's a bit daft in this day & age for a software maker to ship/sell a system to work with OS X 10.4, 10.5 & 10.6 instead of the newer ones.
