I did laugh.

I like to break a road trip with a cup of tea or coffee but until earlier today my only water-boiling options involved use of a naked flame (methylated spirits burner) - contraindicated in a hot Australian summer with severe fire restrictions in most areas.
Today I bought a 12-volt cordless electric kettle. Experience with such devices tells me that while the engine is running, I’d need to allow around 8 minutes to boil enough water for a proper brew.
I keep a supply of tea bags & coffee pods on board: the latter are a measured dose of coffee in a sealed package idea for use in the AeroPress which I also keep in the car.
It’ll be seeing some use on the weekend, to get to the family reunion is a mere 3·5 hour drive & naturally a similar time to get home the follwing day.

When I worked for TheBigPhoneCompany we felt it wasn’t so much a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand was doing, more like neither hand wouls even acknowledge the existence of he other.

Change of plan for family gathering on the weekend in the north of the state (3·5 hrs by road). We’re not doing lunch like last time but dinner instead. We’re getting old (most are in our 50s & 60s now) and need shorter days!

Can’t you change that in Preferences? ?

Decided against getting the 4th gen TV. A 4k version is only $40 more.

Lifestyle enhancement for $40: Hours, days, years of use of a superior device or buy a bottle of average whisky which would be gone in a month.

Going to shift my HomePod from the bedroom to the loungeroom: I’m buying a 4th gen Apple TV. Hardest part of the operation will likely be the siting of the HomePod itself.

Cold brew coffee success. Fourteen hours after putting the carafe in the fridge, I’ve removed the filter section with its depleted coffee grounds and dumped them then cleaned the filter. The result is a coffee that’s too concentrated for my taste unless I make a very milky coffee.
The ratio of water to dry coffee was about 14:1 using a medium-fine ground dark roast ALDI-bought coffee.
