A new supermarket opened near my house.
It has an automatic water mister to keep
the produce fresh. Just before it goes on,
you hear the sound of distant thunder and
the smell of fresh rain.
When you approach the milk cases, you
hear cows mooing and experience the
scent of fresh hay.
When you approach the egg case, you hear
hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled
with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs
frying.
The veggie department features the smell
of fresh buttered corn.
I don't buy toilet paper there any more.
Sometimes you meet someone and you know from the first moment that you want to spend your whole life without them.
The iPhone 13 Mini arrived today. I used the side-by-side sync process to transfer data & settings over to it from the SE 2. Took under an hour & some apps needed to have their data downloaded (the app shelf list helped enormously there). Dsta transfer was easy and seamless.
Cheap Mesh router setup has fixed my patchy home wifi. The Apple TV at the opposite end of my home to the broadband router & Apple AirPort Extreme router kept losing signal, to the extent it actually connected to the 2.4 GHz network ar a faster rate than when using the 5 GHz network.
A temporary solution was to use a power line Ethernet multiplexer setup to give the Apple TV a reliable internet via Ethernet. This worked, after a fashion, but the Speedtest app on the Apple TV indicated the connection at 9.72 Mbps, way down on the 90+ Mbps of the 5 GHz wifi network.
The Power line multiplexers were each replaced by Mesh router units which I’ve set to talk to each other over wifi. The remotest unit connects to the Apple TV via Ethernet, having received the wifi being transmitted from the primary Mesh unit connected via wifi tothe broadband router.
Cheap solution, the Mesh router pair cost AU$68, cheaper than a fast power line Etherneet multiplexer approach. Also cheaper & more effective than wifi range extenders.
Really love the way multitasking works in iPadOS 15. You can still use the traditional methods but the new way is much easier.
@streakmachine I’ll not be doing cinematic mode videos, if I were to do that the 128 GB would be too small, but 128 GH is still fine.
Order placed: 128 GB iPhone 13 Mini. I’ll recoup 21.3% of the cost by returning my SE 2 as a trade-in. Delivery due on Sept 27th.
18-month old iPhone SE is already down to 90% battery. It’s valued as AU$255 when used as a trade-in on an iPhone 13 Mini, total price of $944 is applicable. The attachment shows which iPhones are now available.
It’s a small world.
Going back about 13 years, I was sent to assist a co-worker who I’d not met until then. He looked a bit familiar so I asked if he was knew a certain couple whose post-retirement life story I related. He said it matched the story of his uncle & aunt. Then he asked how I knew them. Simple, says I. Your uncle was the best man at my parents’ wedding.
