In a Zoom meeting hosted by the Naples Macfriends User Group in Florida early this morning I was introduced as Peter from Melbourne. I felt it best to clarify that I wasn’t in Melbourne, FL.
@variablepulserate Today I used Gemini 2 to remove 5 GB of duplicates from my home folder. Never tried DiskDrill, both it & Gemini 2 are available via my Setapp subscription.

Back in the days of the Roman Empire, the famous Emperor Nero instituted a new game. The players would take
those little disks you set your glass on in order to protect the furniture, and see who could get the most distance
rolling them across the floor.
They were the first roller coasters. Back in those days, the disks were made of iron, and they would bet on whose
disk would roll the farthest.
They called them ferrous wheels.
A woman answers the door to a market researcher.
"Good morning madam, I'm doing some research for Vaseline. Do you use it at all in your household?"
"Oh yes, all the time. It's very good for cuts, grazes and burns."
"DO you use it for anything else?" asked the researcher. "Like what?"

@variablepulserate A friend told me today that the one decent thing his drinking & gambling coal miner father did was buy a TV in 1956. This was in Scotland. Tom, my friend said he was able to watch the Melbourne Olympics that year & it formed good opinions of the place. So he left the rest of the family & emigrated two years later b

Annoyed at Apple Photos app for having lost some favourite photos, I turned to Disk Drill app, available via my Setapp subscription. I let it loose on a 32 & a 16 GB SD card from my DSLR camera. I found the missing pics and 725 others of which I decided another 56 were worth salvage. I’ve attached one of the salvaged photos. It’s of a church built in 1940 in a very rural area on a drained swamp.
