@morrick Fine. I've been contacted by a fellow who wants to get ClarisWorks & SimpleText documents off his father's Mac Performa 580CD, a model that was discontinued early in 1996.
The thing still boots OK (OS 7.5.3) and, since the IDE HD just slides out, I'll put it into an external drive case & use either LibreOffice on the MacBook Air or AppleWorks 6 on the G4 PowerBook to extract the documents. The Docs folder is 22 MB.
Intermittently cloudy day is interfering with my MBA's auto-brightness setting. Turned off in System Preferences.

It was rather noisy here about five hours ago. The neighbour is a mechanic & he was working on a very loud, very big V8 engine so loud it seemed like thunder. Then there WAS thunder, frighteningly close which totally dwarfed the engine noise.
