Moving on to greener pastures?

Hey, Amazon?! Would it fucken kill you to include a warning to Kindle users that the thing was going to reset or update itself? Most disconcerting when the screen suddenly goes blank.

It's too fiddly for me to attempt but at least I could get the RAM & processor of this iMac upgraded if needed. I'd have to take it to Apple, fortunately there's an outlet a tad over 10 miles away.

I have 10.11.6 on a slightly newer 2008 15-inch MBP. It has the same processor (2.4 C2D) plus a 240 GiB SSD & 6 GiB RAM. I think Yosemite might be a bit more friendly on the memory installed.

Very nice. Get the hard drive the hell out, replace it with an SSD & give it 6 GB of RAM. It'll reward you with a superb typing experience. and a nice quick boot-up & overall response.
