@sumudu Just enter your normal Apple ID & password & once it's finished the setup, go to System Preferences>iCloud & set which way it'll access various iCloud features. I DO NOT recommend selecting Desktop & Documents in iCloud because those two folders will vanish from the Mac & an internet connection will be needed to access the content.

All done. Operation successful. My friend has broadband working at last. Had to partially rewire the phone cables in his house: existing wiring section was of an unsuitable type & breaking down due to crook insulation. Stayed on for dinner & boozy drinks.
