That got really old, very quickly. Checked out a YouTube video on the Apple Support channel on how to set up an Apple TV, to see if there were any tips I need for the presentation I’m making in a bit over 12 hours.

Prick of a presenter. Needs to work on his dictiopn & content somewhat. I’m too old and cranky to hear “you guys” hissed at me seemingly every 20 seconds.
No-one needs to hear “you guys” in such a scenario, EVER.

Tomorrow I’ll be co-convening a 2-hour session on Apple products & systems a a combined PC/Apple User Group gathering. I’ve decided to take my 4k Apple TV along: the projector in the room we use connects via a complex system involving various control panels, monitors & an HDMI cable. I normally use USB-C video adapters with the Mac & Lightning adapters with iOS devices at that venue.
Another Apple User Group venue has a 3rd gen Apple TV to connect to its laser/LED projector - any presenters with moderm Apple gear just use AirPlay to make the connection. Older kit uses HDMI display adaptors.
I’ve just today discovered a good weather app for the Apple TV.
Should be fun & interseting. I’ll have a varietry of control devices with me, too: Bluetooth keyboard, two Apple remotes, my iPhone using the remote app & will also try connecting to a bluetooth speaker.

The keystrokes of Shift/Option/9 on a Mac keyboard will enter a decimal point as distinct from a period. This is useful when entering payment amounts into calendar apps such as BusyCal & Fantastical which accept normal English entry. Because, if I enter a dollar amount using a period, the app will recognise the first number as a date, which is clearly undesirable. Using a decimal point fixes this issue.
I find it so handy that I’ve reallocated the Command/Comma keystroke combination to enter this symbol ·

I’m trying to work out how a place like Australia, which is about as far as one can get from Europe, can be a contender in Eurovision.

Opera, Vivaldi & Firefox look the same as Chrome & Safari on my system.

I’m not seeing any significant difference in Safari or Chrome in macOS 10.14.5

Just turned on the MacBook Pro. I rather doubt it’ll be able to achieve the indicated potential battery life.

Today I noticed a folder was missing from the desktop of my iMac. Clearly I deleted it by accident. Checking my Time Machine backups showed it was present on march 6th but gone after that date. Fortunately Time Machine makes recovery of such things simple. All fixed.
