About time for my next antibiotic. The burned area on my foot is more extensive than I originally thought, around 3 inches ong & one inch wide, with (fortunately) only ⅓ of it being actively blistered. The rest of the pink area, my GP said, had the potential to blister as well but not now a proper burn dressing has been applied.
@matigo I can’t see any point in the 64 GB model: it’s essentially a streaming device.

Just back from the doc: diagnosis: 1st degree burn to upper foot, only part of the affected area is actively blistered but the rest of it could have gone the same way. Burns dressing applied, given antibiotics to take 3 times daily. Leave dressing on for up to 10 days, OK if it gets wet, if so, pat dry.
Nurses commended me on applying correct first aid.
Burned foot is mostly OK now, just need to fasten my shoe a bit looser as otherwise it puts pressure on the blister that formed.
I never slept last night, not a wink due to pain & effective treatment. At least four times I sat outside the shower recess with my foot inside it under a slow stream of cold water for up to 30 minutes at at time.
This was interspersed with use of a sunburn-relief aloe vera extract spray between dunking episodes.
Virtually pain-free today except when the shoe put pressure on the blister.
Greatly relieved.
I was getting irritated with the Apple TV needing to be restarted whenever it lost WiFi connection, not good with a streaming box thingie.
It was happening far too frequently.
Then I remembered I wasn’t using a Powerline Ethernet setup because I didn’t have enough cables. Bought another cable & had it working in minutes.
Very impressed, video podcasts on a certain network known to @streakmachine never would even start up when using WiFi. No problems when using the hardwired option even when it’s multiplexed over the internal power cabling.
Foot seems to be mostly OK now. Continued cold running water flushes interspersed with aloe vera extract spray treatment has removed all traces of pain from the affected area. There’s a minor blister forming.
Yet to try wearing shoes though.
I had a nasty accident at home about 6 hours ago, spilled hot black tea on my right foot – I was wearing a thin cotton sock, no other footware. I think I can detect blistering starting to form.
Straight away I stuck the foot in a bucket of cold water to try to get the heat out of the injured area. Reasonably successful but twice more since then I’ve had to put it under cold running water in the shower recess.
It’ll be another 12 hours until the next available appointment at my medical clinic, so I may have to drive 15 km to the nearest 24-hour public hospital if I can modify some slippers so as not to put any pressure on the cooked area.
Plus it’s illegal to drive barefoot in this state.
It’s been most distracting, I’ve not been able to get any sleep cos of the pain.
Pleased I don’t have to fork out any more funds for my mobile Apple kit to use the new OS variants. The iPad 5th gen & iPhone SE are OK, as is Friday’s purchase of the new iPod Touch.
