@matigo Phone only gets hot if I forget to position it inverted (the charger is an easel-type) while in its case. Not only does it get hot but also doesn’t charge. This is because the case has a small steel plate such to the back near the bottom so I can attach it to a magmetic mount in the car. When inverted, the steel plate is clear of the induction coils.
I regularly keep my iPad 8, iPad Mini 5, iPod touch 7, iPhone SE & Apple TV Siri pemote in or very near the lounge room, so that’s where the 20 Watt USB-C charger & USB-0c to Lightning cable from the iPad 8. Whichever of those units need a charge gets hooked up to that source.
Less often with the iPhone, I have an old Qi charger it can use.
@matigo With a removable window. Glass filters out the UV radiation the body uses to make Vitamin D.

@matigo It’s not just Covid patients who are Vitamin D deficient. I’m clear of the virus yet require medication for additional Vitamin D. I’m inside too much & not getting access to enough direct sunlight. And it must be direct, window glass filters out the UV radiation that’s needed to synthesise the vitamin.

Took a phone call last night from a recently-retired brother. He’s pretty sure his house in the western suburbs of Melbourne has been sold. He’s moving to a town about halfway along NSW/Victoria border. He’s a mad keen golfer & has always loved that part of the country. There’s no shortage of golf courses on either side of the Murray River, which forms the boundary between the two states.
@gtwilson Be careful with the hook-shot. Overuse of that stroke has led to the termination of some players’ international careers…

@matigo The first international game of cricket was played in 1842 between Canada & USA, with Canada winning.

Two consecutive days with no new Covid 19 cases in the state. Victoria has a population of 6.5 million of that 4.95 million is in the capital, Melbourne. Severe restrictions lifted as if midnight tonight, big change from two months of lockdown. Last week the 5km shopping/exercise radius expanded to 25km but the “ring of steel” roadblocks into country Victoria remain until Nov 9th. After that all travel restrictions will vanish. Retail outlets go from “click & collect” to physically open from midnight. Some are going straight into 24-hour trading. Pubs & restaurants can reopen for sit-down diners, under lockdown they could only do takeaway meals. From Nov 9, dining establishments can have up to 40 seated & 70 outside, space permitting.
