It's faster than USB 2 under sustained use.

That's a compromise Apple also made with the 12-inch G4 PowerBook range: FireWire 400-only. It was introduced in 2003 and the 15 & 17-inch models had both FW 400 & 800. Of my PowerBook collection, the 2005 12-in has the most powerful processor, 1.5 GHz.

I bought a black one

As part of a conversation here on 10C I discovered that Amazon will now deliver hardware, not just ebooks to Australia. So I bought a SeaGate GoFlex SATA-to-FireWire 800 adaptor. I can use it on my USB 2 Macs for faster backups than are possible with USB 2. I intend using it with a bare HD and the 12-inch G4 PowerBook.

At Mum's place a few nights ago I had a similar problem & no medication available. So I mixed ½ a teaspoon of bi-carb soda into a can of evaporated milk. A bit weird-tasting & foamy but it did help. Many off-the-shelf medications combine calcium & bi-carb soda to combat reflux. I sipped that mad brew during the night.

This is the one I acquired from eBay. $39 delivered from China. http://www.amazon.com/Lexar-RW024-001-Professional-Firewire-Stackable/dp/B000C3X83Q/ref=sr_1_3

Well, that's interesting. At long last, Amazon ships stuff to Australia. This is rather new.

I found this beauty of an electric coffee grinder at about ⅓ of the regular price a few years ago. Dead easy to use, consistent in results. So I can grind on a needs basis.

Can't sleep, it's too dangerous. I'm afflicted by gastric reflux and as soon as I lay down it wants to gurgle back up & out. That's both messy & painful. Waiting for the medication to work.

What's upset you now?
