That was weird. Downloaded an update to VLC Player on the Mac. Download was locked & required my admin password to unlock, expand & install it. Then the video would only show up as a white screen, audio was unaffected. Yes, video was enabled in VLC's preferences.
So I uninstalled it & downloaded a fresh copy as a .dmg rather than an update of an older version. All OK, fixt.
