Offloaded my Lumia 1020 to my sister whose own phone suffered a broken screen. It's her sole home communications setup, no landline at all. As she's our retarded brother's legal guardian, and he's just out of hospital after 4 nights on a drip, it's quite important that people be able to contact her.

Before Australia adopted the Metric system, living areas in dwellings were expressed in "squares," or "sq," with one square being 100 square feet. So my 3-bedroom free-standing flat or unit of 88.25 sq metres or 950 sq ft would have been referred to as 9.5 squares.
There's also a lock-up single vehicle garage, a 3 x 4 m garden shed & around 70 sq m of lawn.

I struck a problem with a 15-inch G4 PowerBook. It wouldn't eject the DiskWarrior DVD, no matter which method I used. So the most extreme method was employed: I mostly disassembled the machine & took the top off the DVD drive to extract the disc.

All OK now.

Normal service has been resumed.

Twelve hours without ADSL or LTE. Optice fibre fault, most likely machinery damage. The only available Internet was a severely congested 3G or for the really desperate, Edge network.

Pretty well finished setting up the Lumia 1020 for my phoneless sister to take over. This time last year she was traveling through the Greek islands and later the Baltic States. I helped her set up a Nexus 7 as her internet device when traveling and I still remembered her passwords, which made it much easier to download her existing apps and a few new ones.

My retarded brother was hospitalised on Tuesday with a urinary tract infection. He was put on an antibiotic drip overnight & supposed to go back to his shared house the next day.
But he clearly remembers something bad happening the last time he was there two years ago for a hernia operation. He pulled the drip out when unsupervised on Tuesday night.
And kept pulling it out during the next day. The poor fella can't speak to express his frustration, only has grunts, squeals & gesticulations.
Then last night, (Wednesday) he refused to go to bed, insisting on fitful sleep on a chair. At least he now has a nurse in the room all the time to make sure there's no more mishaps. I don't know how he's managing because you can't explain complicated things to him, things like consequences of drip removal. I just want him to be OK. It's his 56th birthday on Sunday & his carers & housemates hope to have a small party for him on Saturday.

I've found a buter for my Lumia 1020: my sister broke the screen of her Lumia 530 and as she uses the mobile phone as her sole point of contact away from work, a replacement is desired, preferably one where she doesn't have to relearn the usage.
She claims it was her dog that broke the phone when it was playing with the cloth bag it was in.

maybe so. But it's more important now to keep nasty things out of tender spot now that the blister can't provide the protection. Very little pain though.

Bumped the blister & the horrid thing burst. I was hoping for a couple more days before that happened.
