That was weird. Downloaded an update to VLC Player on the Mac. Download was locked & required my admin password to unlock, expand & install it. Then the video would only show up as a white screen, audio was unaffected. Yes, video was enabled in VLC's preferences.

So I uninstalled it & downloaded a fresh copy as a .dmg rather than an update of an older version. All OK, fixt.

First timed test: coffee pot kettle boiled two litres of water in 7 ½ minutes on the induction hob. Not too bad.

And I just explained.

@kdfrawg A butcher Mum goes to sells "lamburgers" which he minces from a lamb shoulder, really sweet & flavoursome meat. Then it's up to the customer which (if any) herbs & spices go into the patties. My preference is lemon & oregano.

Bought what the camping store call a "classic enamel coffee pot."
This will see nought but water in it, it's ideal with the induction hob as a rapid-boil kettle.

There will be no baby pics from - there weren't of his son. His private life just doesn't go online. Private life is very private.

As another nail in (N)evernote's coffin, Apple's Notes app can directly import (N)evernote stuff.

It's cold. I'm m economising by not running any heating except an electric blanket underneath the bedding and a purring cat on top.

Between OneNote & Apple’s Notes app, I just don't miss Evernote at all. I never really got into it, tended to call it Nevernote.

A few years ago, I took up a MacHeist or MacUpdate software bundle offer. Included was a free 12-month Evernote subscription and a free 3-month extension. In that 15-month period I opened Evernote only once, and that was to activate the subscription.

OneNote on the Mac suits me, I have 230 GB available on OneDrive, courtesy of retaining my 15GB camera roll (Lumia 1020) and 15GB bonus plus an ISP-supplied 200GB addition. I'll never use it all.
