Reflux treatment working. Gavisgon antacid uses sodium bicarbonate, calcium carbonate and alginic acid. The latter forms a surface barrier over the top of the stomach acid. The the use of various dairy products boosted the amount of calcium present.
@larand Yesterday I hit the emergency meusli supply: I rarely use it but I needed the extra buzz from coconut, peanuts, almond flakes plus raisins, dried paw paw, dried apple, oats & barley flakes. I cooked it up into an almost-solid porridge. It was magnificent.
Tackling a severe gastric reflux episode. Antacids consumed. Now slowly eating a combination of fruit yohurt, custard & cream to get more calcium into the stomach. Following with extra-milk: whole milk fortified with extra milk powder.
In a number of his detective novels, Kinky Friedman refers to death as "stepping on a rainbow."
I like that, so I use it myself.
Here's to you, Uncle Harry, who stepped yesterday.
Started down the road to take Mum to the hospital for her regular checkup. I observed that her appointment was 5 weeks earlier than originally arranged. Then she wasn't sure if the appointment was today (Feb 1) or Mar 1. We turned back to check the paperwork. Yep, wrong day, supposed to be March 1.
Then the phone rang. It was Mum's youngest remaining sister, calling to say that Uncle Harry, their eldest sister's husband had died overnight from the complications of Parkinson's and a stroke he'd had three years ago. He was 90, the funeral whenever that turns out to be will be interstate, at least 5 hours away by road. Mum wants me to take her there.
Our Mac User Group's meeting venue is undergoing major renovations/additions this year, our first meeting for the year is on Saturday and I'd like to check out the changes to parking before then.
Today, in an adjoining suburb I'm taking my mother to an orthopaedic surgeon for her regular post-op surgery about a year ago.
An ideal opportunity to slip by the meeting venue & determine the best parking arrangements.
In Melbourne's early settlement days, there were many possible names suggested, my favourite being Bearbrass.
I often wish that one had been chosen.
Fitted a very heavy nylon line to my 36 volt cordless line trimmer to see if it could handle it. Works fine, I've had the trimmer for a year but only used it once because the line supplied with it is near on useless, I reckon it should have something in between the two extremes tried thus far. I reckon I'll go with the next-smallest diameter line to wot it currently has. I'm being really generous and charging it up for the 4th time ever.
