Made the move to Chrome instead of Safari as the default browser on the MacBook Air because an as-yet unsorted problem with the user account means the Safari icon bounces in the dock for between 7 & 31 seconds before opening.
Safari behaves normally in other user accounts.
I have imported Safari's bookmarks & set up pinned tabs to mirror those on Safari.
TIL that HDR pics taken with the Lumia 1520 have a slider control where lighting levels can be adjusted.
@jws Another case of Sierra's PDF bug: Every 2 months I submit an annotated crossword puzzle for publication in the Mac User Group's monthly magazine. The last two issues, December & March (no January edition) have had the annotation layer stripped out in the process of emailing it to the editor.
So in future I'm going the export the annotated PDF as another PDF (this flattens the annotations layer & fixes it to the rest of the image) and send the editor both a zipped file & a Droplr link of the same. http://d.pr/f/6tLC
Looked at an expensive (> $55) mobile phone cradle to use with the big Lumia 1520. It's a suction cup mount with an adhesive suction surface that can apparently/allegedly cling to rough/uneven surfaces. Next there's a swivelling ball joint & a very powerful magnetic plate of about one square inch in area. The kit comes with two very thin steel sheets that are stuck to the back of the phone (one on the phone & one spare), and can fit between the phone & any case it might be in.
But that was too expensive/complex. The lumia 1520 is 3½ inches wide, the adaptor I chose can open to at least 4 inches. This one was chosen for that reason & that it would fit my current windscreen mount.
Bit the bullet & paid over $30 for a Windows Phone app today. I recall using Sygic GPS Navigation, etc as a 7-day trial when I used the Lumia 1020 but did't continue with it as it didn't offer much more than Nokia Here Maps & Here Drive+. The Here series of apps no longer work in WinPho 10, Microsoft Maps navigation features are feeble at best.
I tried a number of the available apps but none are a patch on Sygic. I'm afraid the WinPho version of Waze is a feeble & crippled piece of shit when compared even to its Android version, let alone the iOS variant.
@matigo Compliant is an anagram of complaint. Just saying.
