It's just after 1 am on Friday. Later today I'm headed off to a car battery place about 30 minutes away. Why choose them instead of a local place? Price, mostly. I've already bought & paid for the battery, free fitting was chosen. I just need to rock up with my printed receipt (sent via e-mail) & they'll do the job making sure no accessories lose their memorise settings.

Bought some unusual (but nice) cheeses today. A mild, pleasant cheddar-style cheese but with goats milk. Very easy-going & pleasant. Plus a regular cheddar flavoured with chunks of orange peel, lemon peel & ginger. Feisty & fruity with a nice mature cheddar bite to it.

Briefly nudge the phone.
"Hi, there! I'm Cortana!"

"Fuck off!"

No, you haven't lost the plot, baz. More like the whole frigging cemetery.

Oh dear. I fear old age isn't just creeping up on poor baz. It's galloping after him with a vengeance.

Pages, Numbers, Keynote, iMovie & Garageband for Mac & iOS are all free. https://fnd.io/#/us/search
Visit the above website, insert your particular country's App Store in the top left corner. Searching under the All tab shows iOS content first, Mac stuff is found under the Mac tab.
A particular use of fnd.io is that you can find out the cost of any paid apps you may already own, making it easier to recommend them to others.

A special deal with a bandwidth reseller masquerading as a carrier was $249 for unlimited calls within Australia & unlimited SMS messages, MMS messages excluded. Plus 42 GB of data with a 365 day period. Ignoring the calls/SMS aspect, that's $5.90 per GB of data. Which compares well with the prepaid mobile broadband deal of $60/90 days/10 GB.

Men's Shed is using approx 2.7 GB of prepaid 3G/4G data per month. So the $60/10 GB/90 day recharge seems to be the best offer from the carrier.

I have a somewhat elderly & decrepit cordless steam iron with a scratched stainless steel soleplate and a long screw jammed into the spot where the "shot-of-steam" button used to be before it broke off in a fall onto a tiled floor. I like to be able to do the ironing without the restrictions of a cord where possible. The local Aldi store opens in 7 hours. They are selling an ideal replacement with a ceramic soleplate, corded or cordless operation & it has a 1.9 metre cord, longer than usual. I aim to get one of those so I need to be there when they open for business.
