Gonna try something wild very soon. Time for bed, because of chest & nasal congestion I've not been able to lie flat without major breathing issues & slept the last two nights on the couch in the lounge room. That position elevates my head & chest, making sleep possible.
The wild thing? Sleeping in/on a bed for a change. #LivingDangerously
@indigo A friend, originally from Yorkshire, said he much preferred the southern Australian winters to those of his home country. The fact you can get to snow if you like that sort of thing but don't have to live with it form months at a time was a major consideration.
@indigo We have to drive for at least two hours just to see snow. It's rare to get below -4ºC. 38ºS latitude passed through the northern section of the family farm.
Downloaded Mavericks to install on a 2009 MBP I've been asked by the Mac User Group to clean up and offer for sale. I used the 2014 MBA (originally came with 10.9.2) and when the download finished, it announced that the download of 10.9.5 was too old for the particular hardware. No biggie, I was only downloading it. I don't yet have the old MBP to fix, that'll be another week.
Steri strip wound closures are a great idea but rather expensive, usually $7 for 3 strips. So when I found some today at a discount pharmacy for ½ that price I bought a pack.
"OK," says the doctor. "your temperature is a little elevated, 57.4°C." "How am I still alive, then, at 57.4°?"
"Oops, I meant 37.4°."
Chest infection suspicion confirmed. Will commence 6 day course of antibiotics later today. Plus the gashed finger still needs a steri-strip dressing to help line up the skin edges. Keep it dry for a few more days.
Doctor's appointment in just over two hours. It's been an expensive week for such things. Fifth visit in 10 days.
