I ordered the iMac on Aug 9th. Apple confirmed on Aug 12th that it had been shipped & it was ready for pickup on the 15th.
An app called Coconut ID says the Mac was made in Shanghai, China between the 7th & 13th of Aug.

Had to restart the iMac to fix a glitch. Data transfer to/from Windows phones wasn't working properly: apps would start then fail to recognise the connected phone. At the same time, Bluetooth-connected devices were disconnecting & reconnecting at random.
Fixed with restart.
@kdfrawg That's my permanent setting, automatically show & hide the dock, but on the right instead of the bottom. Had to do a forced restart to get it back.
Today I made a DiskWarrior Recovery drive by repartitioning a 16 GB USB 3.0 thumb drive. I shaved off 2 GB for that job. It certainly boots very quickly.
Had to elevate the iMac to get it to a decent working height, sat it on top of an Android tablet box. Plus I found I could fit the Logitech AudioHub I've had for years underneath & behind the iMac with just enough clearance to access the USB 3·0 ports at the back.
The AudioHub is a 2.1 stereo /subwoofer speaker; powered USB 2·0 hub & external sound card. Plug it into a USB port & select it in System Preferences>Sound.
Rated at 15 watts RMS it really kicks out much better audio than the standard speakers.
For the record, these pics are from Google Images but I do own a camera & iPod that are identical to those shown.
The stereo speakers slide in & out about 4 cm on each side.
