Converted a USB 2 ext HD to USB 3 with a cheap case from Amazon USA. Of course, the supplied 2A power brick is no good, it has the wrong prongs. I used my existing 1.5A brick (both are 12 volts DC) and it works OK.

How is this so? It's not yet Friday in Australia!

Damnation. I can feel a gout attack coming on. Totally out of paracetamol & ibuprofen, having to rely on aspirin for pain relief. Using two anti-gout meds as well, an anti-inflammatory and another that can lead to aggressive bowel movements

There's an odd fault with the 240 volt convection/radiant panel heater in this room: it just will not heat to over 18ºC, despite having settings for up to 27ºC. Ah well, at least it'll reach a comfortable level. Just.

I love it!!!

Diet is not a word. It's an acronym: Dare I Eat That?

Scum telemarketing arsehole dickheads. They call my mobile & home phones at the same time. Dickwads. I can't t answer both. But I can block calls from that number on both systems.

Still not sure whether the Magic Keyboard 2 as suppled with the iMac is better for me than the solar-powered Logitech K760 I've been using for several years. Both have their good points, the Apple one pairs instantly & stays paired longer, the Logitech has more key travel & never needs charging.
But with the K760, F1, F2 & F3 are designated as the keys to select between three separate Bluetooth channels; one for the iMac, one for the iPad & the other for the iPhone.
This means I have to find other function keys. Fortunately F13, F14, F15 & F16 are available on the Belkin YourTouch numerical keypad, programmable in Keyboard Preferences.

I was needing some food last night that wasn't going to trigger a reflux attack but also had to be filling. So I cooked some arborio rice in milk then added custard at the end of proceedings. Did the job nicely, an interesting variant on creamed rice.

Rice custard is a different thing altogether: it's rice cooked in a bain marie in the oven in an egg custard mix and sets rather thicker.
