I definitely have the latest Sierra installer, but at my upload speeds it would take 9 or more hours to get it into shareable online storage. The link turned out to be a bust, it was a .pkg that Pacifist app couldn't open.

//

I have found an official Apple page which includes this gem: To reinstall Safari, Mail, the App Store, or other apps that are included with the Mac operating system, reinstall macOS. macOS Sierra or later doesn't appear in the Purchased tab. Instead, use the Search field in the upper-right corner to find and open the App Store page for that macOS.

But now that Sierra has been superseded, only High Sierra is available.

WAIT! I may have found something on a forum, it's a package of 4.77 GB, claiming to be the absent Sierra downloader, I should have it available in 25 minutes & will check it out then. I do know that my saved Sierra installer app is 4.78 GB, so it's a possibility.

@kdfrawg They’ve fucked up & are too bloody arrogant to admit it.

This might help you to get your Mac working again on Sierra:

With no way to get back if their Time Machine backups were not complete ones, as yours were not. With a proper backup you can revert.

Yes, I have just noticed this. But in my case, I make a copy of the installer after it's downloaded & before I start the installation.
You mentioned your Time machine restoration didn't include the OS? Did you make partial or full Time Machine backups? I have always tried to make full backups, a few years ago TM was cranky on one Mac & only did partial ones for about six months before a new OS install fixed it up.

So far, I have.

Sierra should still be available on your purchased list.
