Eventually retrieved item from post office: it's a USB 3.1-to-SATA adaptor cable that lets me operate an elderly external SSD at twice the read/write speed as USB3.0-to-SATA interface. I already had the capability of such a connection speed, but it needed a Thunderbolt 3-to-Thunderbolt 2 adaptor plus a Thunderbolt 1-to-SATA interface & a Thunderbolt 1 cable. This is much less fiddly.

I shall be registering a complaint with the postal people. Delivery attempted yesterday at 1045, according to the text message they sent me this morning at 0848. Tracking of parcels said it was waiting collection at the post office. They didn’t even fucking TRY to deliver it today.

A bunch of USB sticks totalling 48 GB went missing in July, thought I’d looked “everywhere.” Clearly not the case, I’ve just found them still attached to a lanyard in a zipped compartment in a computer bag.

MUM!!!

I'm being called gay in school.

Who is calling you that son?

A bunch of cute boys.

If you ate pasta and antipasta, would you still be hungry?

I went to the doctor with hearing problems.

He said "Can you describe the symptoms?"

I said "Homer’s a fat bloke and Marge has blue hair."

I bought a massive fish from the supermarket yesterday, and when I got home I found out that all its insides were missing.

Gutted.

The world according to Cohen, L:
“And Jesus was a sailor when he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching from his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain only drowning men could see him
He said all men will be sailors then until the sea shall free them
But he himself was broken, long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human, he sank beneath your wisdom like a stone.”

I found a pouch of very low calorie diet vegetarian curry deep in the back of the food cupboard during a clean-out. It says to serve with 100 grams of cooked basmati rice. It just so happens I have basmati rice so I've cooked up a small batch in my favourite manner: par-boil it the finish it off in the steamer basket.

I have created a Sierra & a High Sierra (for Fusion & HDs only) DiskWarrior Recovery USB drive & was trying to work out how to do one for El Capitan & earlier Macs. The answer is simple: use the DW Recovery Maker app on the 2008 MacBook Pro that I keep at my mother's place. It runs El Capitan so that'll sort itself out.
