Left the cool of the loungeroom to prepare lunch. Kitchen floor was very wet. Turned water off at the meter outside after determining the source of the leak. It’s the now unused filter tap supply line, a narrow polyethylene tube.
I cut it away from the sink fitting , bent it in half, crimped the bend which I then held in place with cable ties.
Mixed up some 5-minute set epoxy putty, forced some down the tube & formed a blob of it over the cut end. I let it cure for 10 minutes & turned the water back on.
Pleased to report the repair is holding.
@matigo Back in the 1960s & 70s, Dad would repair our school shoes, often putting new heel face plates on them. This was before the throw-away society became prevalent.
@matigo Printer Wonderland.
I spotted this cartoon on Mastodon a few hours ago.
Macchiato app on the iPad kept crashing without opening. So I checked TestFlight app and there was an 8-day old update there that I hadn’t applied. All fixed now with the new version.
@indigo I generally dislike the subscription model for apps but the case of SetApp on the Mac is most intriguing. A single monthly subscription gives access to over 100 different apps and they’re always the latest versions, too. Of those 100+ apps, I currently have licences for about 12.

The place I visited on Jan 9th was featured briefly in a travelogue TV show today. Clearly it had been around the middle of last year when they visited the place.
The presenter was rugged up against the cold & it had been raining.
An old friend is a 6th generation resident & head of the local historical society. He was interviewed as a local historian on the show. I found it quite interesting.

It wasn’t needed, truth to say,
My own tweets do that anyway.’
