Was given some potatoes today, too many at Mum’s place. I’m haven’t old-fashioned chip-shop chips tonight, cooked in ghee. My late father told of the 5-pound tins of butter concentrate used in the the Army cook-houses: he reckoned it was the best chip-cooking medium. Butter concentrate is a clarified butter product that’s stable in the tropics where Dad served in WW2.
@streakmachine I have seen the thoroughly unhygienic circumstances/premises our local Dominos works in. It's a wonder there have been no deaths associated with food poisoning.
