$372.15 later, my leaking water pipe is fixed.
It is 38 years old & was paper-thin at the failure point.
He did say he was a plumber, not a bricklayer. I'll fix the rest in a couple of weeks when the mortar (which he ran out of) has set.
Just reading up on @doctorlinguist's TenFourFoxBox single-site browser app for PPC Macs. This aspect sounds nicely secure.

Confirmed: another Pismo (the last of the G3 PowerBooks) will be joining my small collection of Macs. It's being provided by the dear friend who also gave me the Pismo I currently have. This one will have a 40 GB HD installed, the original options were 6, 10, 12 or 20 GB.
My current Pismo has an internal fault preventing it from booting from an external drive. But I have a FireWire CF card reader & I use that with the OS (Tiger/OS 9) on a 32 GB CF card. It works quite well.
In addition the screen is odd, it starts off as pink but soon reverts to the proper colour gamut.
The "new" Pismo has is "pink-free."
@larand My policy these days is to fit Michelin tyres when necessary. Currently the newish (to me, at least) Mazda2 has a brand I'd not heard of before seeing them, HiFly. Apparently they're a long-wearing, moderately quiet, good all-round budget tyre.
There's plenty of tread remaining, which means I'll have to wait about a year before it's worth fitting the quieter, longer-lasting Michelins.
Excised area healing well. Just replaced the dressing, it had come loose during the night. Tricky keeping it dry, I'm in the habit of showering daily & waterproof dressings are frowned upon by the clinic. So I'll just use them for the duration of the ablutions & replace it with a new sterile one each time after using some antiseptic.

There’s a very oversized load passing through the area very slowly. It moves at 20 km/h, is 108 metre long and weighs in at 538 tonnes.
I found where it’s currently parked before heading off on the 2nd stage of the journey at 10pm tonight but I can’t get close enough for photo opportunities as I have to park illegally on the side of the freeway.
The freeway will be closed between 10pm today & ttomorrow to facilitate its movement as it’s too wide for traffic to overtake.
@hazardwarning When we see colours like that on a map, it's an indication of where the wildfires are.
They're closing the nearby freeway at tonight for 7 hours as A massive 108m load on the move from the docks to a regional power station.
The section the load will traverse over that period can normally be done by car in 45 minutes.
