@variablepulserate My apologies, I’d misread something from Apple about such devices, it was any MacBook BEFORE 2015 that was going to be left out.
@matigo An Apple reseller has a 2017 13-in non-touchbar MBP at a $200 discount. Trouble is, it’s currently on offer to someone else. That other person has been dicking about as to wheter to get it or not. He has until 5pm tonight to decide. It’s mine if he doesn’t want it.
Not happy. I’ve killed my MacBook Air with liquid damage. Got a Genius appointment at my local Apple Store in 2 hours.
The bag of frozen peas I used to fix my sore back overnight was discarded on top of the iPad which was on top of the closed laptop. Condensation dripped off the bag and wicked into the bottom of the laptop.
@variablepulserate Don’t expect it to run 10.14 Mojave though. That one’s too old.
Put my back out assisting Mum earlier today. I need an icepack. No therapeutic gel pack in the freezer, so it’s bag of peas time.
@matigo She needs to revisit her emergency plans. She does indeed have one of those pendants, but doesn’t wear it because she said she’d always be able to reach it.
That approach needs to be abandoned.

Normally on weekends I visit Mum on a Saturday, stay for a meal with her then make sure she’s OK before heading home myself. One of her friends usually drops in on Mondays but she’s having a surgical procedure this Monday so if I’d maintained my usual schedule, who knows when she’d have been found.
It seems she’d been on the floor for at least 15 hours, tired, in great pain, alone, cold and utterly unable to summon help.
The ambulance staff & hospital both say that Mum’s next-door neighbour & myself did everything right in comforting her, keeping her warm, gently massaging the sore parts without trying to move her.
