I was removing some soft drink cans from my cooler prior to emptying the watery ice and the iPhone slid out of my shirt pocket and into the ice water. Fortunately I keep it sealed in a waterproof case. Hone was totally dry inside it.
As of today, the total energy produced by my solar array since being installed 40 days ago is the equivalent of one tree planted, according to the system monitoring website.
Such an elementary error. I downloaded the new Microsoft Translate app on the iPad and was wondering which folder to put it in (that’s how I roll, everything goes in a folder unless it’s on the dock). I left it where it was and proceeded through several dozen Apple News articles and one made mention of 13 apps permanently in the dock to the left & 3 most recent apps to the right.
Here’s the error. I’d thought you could only have 12 permanent dock-residing apps. Problem solved.
St George's Day, April 23rd. Here's the lyrics from a favourite folk singer.
JOHN KIRKPATRICK
Saint George Lyrics
Now I am Saint George, I'm a God-fearing man,
I fight for Old England whenever I can,
With me banner in battle all foes to defy
Let “The Cross and Saint George” be your battle cry.
Chorus (after each verse):
And on my breast a red, red rose,
The flower of old England wherever she grows.
With courage and valour I act out me days,
I seek for no honour, I ask for no praise.
My only desire is to handle the sword
And that England may flourish is all my reward.
Now I fought with the dragon and I brought him to shame,
I was killed seven times but I still fought again.
I was killed seven times but it did me no ill
And God being willing I'll fight again still.
In the cause of all freedom my banner shall wave,
The oppressed and downtrodden my sword it shall save.
And kindle the hearts of all true-living men
That the victory be ours at the final Amen.
A week can be a long time in software-land. The solar array monitors released an iOS/Android app last Monday and disabled the website. Initially the app failed to connect to anything & non-portable device users had no way of checking because the website was deprecated.
A day later & an update to the app fixed the connectivity. Next, connection was lost from Friday to Sunday. Then on Monday, the app connects OK & the old website works again.
Then, following a soft reset & restart, I was indeed able to drag & drop content within the Dropbox app.
