Found an Apple News article released 9 hours ago with the headline: Laptops That Last. Opening it revealed an article originally published in June 2011. Amongst other laptops it mentioned the 2 GHz quad-core i7 MacBook Pro in 15-inch configuration.
I had one of those. It didn’t last as long as I’d hoped, failing in August 2017, 6-½ years after its release.

Very curious why they published such an old article passing it iff as new.
Wankers.

Whilst recreating a missing DiskWarrior USB recovery drive for the 2008 MacBook Pro I observed with surprise that the Mac’s system was 10.11.6 but the Recovery partition was stuck back on 10.11.2. Such things are supposed to upgrade as each point update is applied.

I needed to fix this issue & did so by downloading a fresh 10.11 installer.
Running that had two beneficial effects: it reset the Recovery partition to match the rest of the System files & increased the amount of free space on the SSD from 145 GB to 160 GB. The 6.22 GB installer by this stage had been moved to another external drive so that wasn’t a factor.

This really defines “women’s active wear.” Image

Discovery Of The Week! The Apple Dictionary app as supplied on all Macs is a full-blown Wikipedia browser.
This has been available since April 2005 when Tiger (macOS 10.4) was released.

I think you’ll find is a pretty dab hand at turning out bread at home.
Me, I have a bread machine I’ve not used for two years. Yesterday I bought a loaf of extremely tasty oat bread, no wheat content at all.
A relatively moist bread but not heavy or dense. Requires refrigeration for best life.

Delivery expected tomorrow of an interesting LED torch. Here’s what’s in the package:
ThorFire TG06S Led Flashlight; 3.7v 750mAh 14500 button top battery; Single slot battery charger; USB charge cable; Spare O-rings & a user manual.
The 14500 battery is a Lithium AA-sized battery & needs a special charger, which is included. With the 14500 fitted it puts out 500 lumens. It will also run on a conventioal 1.5 v AA cell, at 150 lumens.

Backing up my iOS devices with iMazing app means I can direct the backup location AWAY from the iMac’s internal drive. It also means that unlike with previous versions of iMazing, iTunes cannot be used to restore such backups: that has to be done with iMazing itself.

Fine by me. I have saved 39 GB of space in doing that. The backups were of the 128 GB iPad; 128 GB iPod Touch & the 64 GB iPhone.

My sister wanted to know how to transfer stuff from her Windoze computer to the Lenovo Android tablet. I found an instruction manual and sent her that plus the relevant single page.
Basically connect tablet via USB cable and tap on sync when the option appears on the tablet’s screen.
But she wasn’t seeing that option. I suggested she might be using a charge-only cable and to try another one.
That worked.

Been labelling my many & various micro USB cables. Six proved to be charge-only cables. Two would charge & sync Android tablets. One would charge & sync Android tablets & my Kindle Paperwhite.

The I found out that a USB-C to USB-A cable in my collection was only good for data & power usage - when connected to the various sync-capable micro USB cable, syncing was no longer an option.
I ordered half a dozen USB-C to USB-A adapters from Amazon, they are fully sync-capable. I have one on each of three external drives, one on the USB Apple Superdrive, one on the SanDisk iXpand USB 3·0/Lightning device and the last is on a micro USB adapter on my keyring as a spare.
