‘I won’t accept the way you’ve lied!
We’re at war now!’ Donald cried,
‘Everything you say is crap!’
(He thought iRan was a fitness app).
Heard a steam train whistle about 40 minutes ago. It’s the first annual Snow Train, a 180 km each way trip from the city out to various regional stops. From those stops, buses go to cafes & restaurants, off to a ski-field (hence the name Snow Train) & eventually to a town where the two big locos can be turned around on the turntable.
There’s another Snow Train running next week, too, this time on Sunday.
I followed it partway on its outward journey last year, got some great photos & videos.

@hazardwarning On Tuesday, July 31st, the next episode will feature a lamppost called Maeve.
I’ve been driving for over 40 years & this is the first time I’ve been pinged by a red-light camera.
Found a traffic infriungement notice in the mailbox today. When I was bringing my mother back to the rehab hospital from another hospital where she’d had an MRI scan done, I ran a red light. No doubt of it, I’ve seen the photos the camera took.
$403 worth of ouch.
23 years ago an errant vehicle partially demolished a low brick wall separating the main road from the carpark of a small convenience store. Since then, the shop has been reconstructed, now occupying twice the original area, but still the brick wall is only half there.
@larand Technically, zero is rounder. It’s mid-winter here, 38º South lattitude. At last the violent winds of the last four or five days are subsiding. Limited precipitation expected today, top temperature of 14º forecast.
