Chalk and cheese, as the saying goes. Comparing the FaceTime camera on the MacBook Air with the Logitech c615 720p HD webcam. The latter can handle stills of up to 8 MP, very handy indeed.
Johnson & Johnson's Band-Aids are available in Skin-Flex type, either a straight strip or a butterfly type with the dressing pad running from the middle to one side, it's intended for knuckles & fingertips. This latter type is quite suitable for the dermatitis-affedcted right palm.
As the name suggests, the fabric is thin & flexible yet the adhesive is strong & water-resistant. They're quite capable of staying in place for two days, even surviving a couple of hot 10-minute showers.
I'm away from a power source for the MBA. FruitJuice app wants me to complete the Maintenance Cycle by charging the battery as it's dropped to 20%. Fortunately I have my Lenmar Undead (seriously, that's it's name) topup battery/inverter with me. It outputs 240 VAC into the standard 45 watt Apple charger and a single charge can take the MBA to 100% charged from as low as 4%.
@matigo Looks better now the skin isn't dry. I've rubbed vitamin E cream into the affected ares and fitted an extra-sticky plaster to the area with a big dollop of antiseptic cream under it. The glove over the top also helps hold the new dressing in place.
Removed the dressing from the dermatitis-affected right hand. The problem is the middle of the palm. It's not getting better at all, possibly worse as there was blood evident. I'm now wearing an elasticised fingerless arthritis compression glove for extra padding as well as a sticking plaster.
Had an interesting proposal from a friend whose business is repair, maintenance & salvage of Macs & their data. A client has a 2013 11-inch MacBook Air that's got wet & unusable. No backups were maintained. (Idiot.) Geoff wants to borrow my MBA & swap the SSD from the sick machine into mine in order to clone that drive. He assures me it's relatively straightforward.
We discussed other options & the cheapest hardware purchase solution would cost around $200 if available in this country. Currently no known supplier holds stock. Other PC-centric suppliers are being checked out.
@sumudu That particular tea normally sells for $5 a box, ½ the price of a certain better-known brand. Recently I've seen it at $3 so I stocked up. It's a very strong tea, so a little goes a long way.
Once per month I'm rostered to assist a charity group with delivering non-perishable food packs to needy families, today is that day. We supply enough to feed a family of four for a day, plus emergency fuel cards and grocery cards, the latter being like cash. It's for buying fresh food and toiletries, no alcohol or tobacco allowed. We can also supply vouchers for people to get clothing/bedding/furniture from the charity's shops if needed.
I choose to add at my own minimal expense, a dozen extra-strong teabags, so it's time to open another box of tea.
