Scientifically, a raven has 17 primary wing feathers, the big ones at the end of the wing. They are called pinion feathers. A crow has 16. So, the difference between a crow and a raven is only a matter of a pinion.

I'd checked eBay to get an indication of prices and found them to vary between a realistic $45 and a wildly optimistic $120. I put a price of $40 or near offer on it, which was the selling price.
The buyer is a teacher who'd failed to integrate an older Apple TV into his workflow and a 4k version was ideal, he said.

At 5:55 pm on Wednesday evening I posted to the Mac User Group that I had a 1st generation 32 GB 2017 Apple TV 4k for sale. Its new owner collected it today, a mere 67 hours after the original posting.

Today I upgraded my 1st gen Apple TV 4k to a 3rd gen version. Using the iPhone to set it up was very simple. The Siri remote control now comes with a USB-C port in place of the Lightning port previously used.

Apple update time again. Now available, tvOS 17.6, HomePod OS 17.6, iOS 17.6, iPadOS 17.6, watchOS 10.6, macOS 13.6.8 and macOS 14.6.
Thus far I have updated one iPhone, 1 iPad Air 5, one Apple TV 4k, one Apple Watch SE (1st edition), one M1 Mac Mini, one M3 MacBook Air and 5 HomePods.
I still have to update the iPad Mini 5 but it's in the car andit's cold outside.

This one comes in a hair under 12 kg.

Another aspect of the new TV in combination with the Apple TV is that powering the Apple TV on and off does the same for the TV itself.

Nope. Couldn’t skip that step.

Done, new TV purchased and installed. If my car had been even 5mm narrower, the box would have to have been laid flat in the back, the retailer prefers where possible to stow them upright or near upright. There was just enough room behind the front seats for the thing to fit in. It was more of a struggle to get it out, actually. My dodgy knee wasn't an issue in this case.
The old HD TV was cheap and it showed with the incredibly poor speaker quality, a soundbar was needed for it to be usable when not connected to the AppleTV/HomePod combination.
No such issues with the new 50-inch 4k TV though. Its speakers are quite acceptable, which means I free up a power outlet in the lounge room but have to use another in the bedroom where that TV/soundbar combination now resides.
The old one is a "dumb" TV, the new one is what I call lobotomised, rather than Smart as I only connected it to the internet for setting up purposes. Now any smart or streaming features are handled from the Apple TV 4k, so the TV's Wi-Fi- has been disconnected and the Ethernet unplugged.
The next thing to do is not to advertise to passers-by that a new TV is nearby by breaking down the packaging, I use a Ryobi 4 volt cutter for such jobs. it struggled with this box because the cardboard was extra thick. That said, it's broken down now and taking up very little space in a recycling bin. the attachment shows the cardboard pieces with the cutter on top of the pile and my feet in the photo to give an idea of scale.

Seven years ago I bought a 32-in HD TV from ALDI, it's OK but not so fabulous in this day and age. Later today I hope to upgrade to a 50-inch LG 4k Smart TV, relegating the ALDI one to the bedroom.
In expectation of necessity I have already registered an LG account, I'll likely need it to set up the new TV properly.
I don't envisage using any of the Smart TV features: those are generally provided (and without intrusive adverts) by the APPle TV 4k unit. I have a soundbar and a pair of 2nd gen HomePods to provide additional audio if the built-in speakers are not as good.
