@whoisashygirl It was only out for about 90 minutes, but I was panicking a bit. I’m the President of a Men’s shed group & also the IT person. Three of the shed’s four email accts ae with Google & Mail kept asking for authentication which couldn’t be completed.
I tried YouTube in incognito mode to get some joy out of the situation.
Photo scanning job will be easier shortly, Canon LiDE 400 scanner is out for delivery via Amazon today. While it can’t do film/transparencies (which the old Epson V300 can, albeit slowly) it is an extremely fast photo scanner.
@matigo Probably not. Likely I’ll use OneDrive, I have over 200 GB available there.
Got a big job over the next few weeks: scan a lot of Mum’s photos to a computer. I’ve worked out that a new scanner (Canon Lide 400) will be much faster for photo scanning than my current 2008-model Epson V300 scanner.
Plus the Canon connects both data & power via USB-C. I happen to have a spare 250 GB ext SSD that can be used as storage for the project.
@streakmachine Unwise to crush the Vitamin D tablets I take: tey’re actually liquid-filled capsules. That could be quite nasty.
Got a nice dose of proper (unfiltered by window glass) sun on Sunday* when the Residential Corporation chairman came over for a chat.
- might be why it’s called Sunday…

Mac user group finally celebrating 40th anniversary of its first official AGM via Zoom. We were going to have a big party in April but lockdown killed off that plan. We had the cutting of a virtual cake & there was a 16-minute history slideshow form on continuous playback in a Breakout Room.
