For the last week under state of Emergency conditions we've had to wear masks while outside. This was to be reviewed on August 16. Not happening now, we've been downgraded to stage 4 restrictions under a state of Disaster until at least Sept 13th.
Folk complain about the ear loops of their masks hurting their ears over time. I have a solution.
My latest invention: EarSavers! Double-sided Velcro cable tie cut in half. One end of each half wraps around the elastic ear loop of a disposable (or otherwise) mask. Fit over the ears as normal then stretch the other ends behind the head and fasten to each other.earsavers

One day a florist went to a barber for a haircut. After the cut, he
asked about his bill, and the barber replied, 'I cannot accept money
from you, I'm doing community service this week.'

The florist was pleased and left the shop.
When the barber went to open his shop the next morning, there was a
'thank you' card and a dozen roses waiting for him at his door.

Later, a cop comes in for a haircut, and when he tries to pay his bill,
the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from you, I'm doing
community service this week.'
The cop was happy and left the shop.

The next morning when the barber went to open up, there was a 'thank
you' card and a dozen doughnuts waiting for him at his door.

Then a Member of Parliament came in for a haircut, and when he went to
pay his bill, the barber again replied, 'I cannot accept money from
you. I'm doing community service this week.' The Member of Parliament
was very happy and left the shop.

The next morning, when the barber went to open up, there were a dozen
Members of Parliament lined up waiting for a free haircut.

And that, my friends, illustrates the fundamental difference between
the citizens of our country and the politicians who run it.

I asked my German friend if he knew the square root of 81.

He said “no”.

But no post appeared, in fact, one was removed!

You're going the wrong way…

I paid a mere $15 on Amazon for a stainless steel reusable coffee pod alleged to suit my K-Fee Preferenza machine. It doesn’t fit, its 29mm tall, needs to be 28mm to fit properly in the machine. Diameter is OK, though.
I instigated a return/refund with the seller whose condescending response was quite insulting.
“Considering that return will take time and money as for this issue
we will issue you 15% refund as a disocunt could you keep the item?

waiting for your reply.”
I responded that the item is completely useless to me as it doesn’t allow the locking handle to depress fully & is unsuitable & unsafe.

15% of $15 is $2.25.
Cheap scum. Own up to your responsibilities under consumer law, areswipe.

Don’t Install macOS Big Sur on the same APFS container as older versions or you will no longer be able to receive system or service updates for your existing macOS version. And you'll see a "incompatible disk" warning.

https://www.macobserver.com/news/product-news/psa-big-sur-apfs-partition/

Further to this, you can still install Big Sur to another partition but only if your existing Mac's actual drive exceeds 256 GB, as that is the minimum size for an APFS container. Partitions cannot be created on APFS drives of 256 GB or less capacity – I tried with my 256 GB MacBook Pro & it wasn't permitted.

Therefore, if you want to try out Big Sur Beta on an existing Mac but only have 128 or 256 GB, it cannot be done on an internal drive, but you can install it to an external SSD formatted as APFS.

It’s OK. I have a replenished supply of superior ones.
