New scanner is an interesting beast. It’s limited to 600 dpi for scans using the Canon software, but can go up to 4800 dpi via Image Capture/VueScan. The latter makes for a very slow scan, though.
For scanning photos, 600 is fine.
Open scanning app, set parameters for Document, Photo or Custom scan, insert media & hit the Auto button in the app.
An overview scan is commenced, taking up to approx 30 seconds. Then it does the actual scan in about 3 seconds & I estimate another ½ second to send the scan to the Mac. Not impossible to scan 4 photos in 30 seconds (plus time taken to load the pics).
Power in & data out are handled by a USB-C cable, so no external power is needed.
Multi-page PDFs are easy to set up & it automatically recognises individual photos.
Impressed with the speed compared to the old Epson V300 from 2008.
