@matigo From what I hear, the battery swap isn't much more complicated than your description.

@matigo The reseller I bought it from has had a deal with Apple for the last 10 years or so where they buy in MacBook Airs after Apple has used them for 2 years. It's a sweet deal.
@skematica I had a "battery needs servicing" warning on my 2008 MacBook Pro when it was running Mountain Lion, Mavrix & Yosemite. But when I updated ot to El Crapitan after fitting a fast SSD in place of the HDD, the warning vanished, never to be seen again.
The first thing to try is turn it off & back on again. If that doesn't work, download & run the latest Combo Updater for your OS.
Got it. The ex-Apple 11-inch 2014 MacBook Air, that is. Very nice, comes with Yosemite, so I'll have to update it to El Capitan before using Migration Assistant to shift the stuff from the current MacBook Air. I'm proposing to shift the stuff from a Time Machine backup rather than from the Mac itself, I know of a few horror stories when the latter is attempted.
I should complain a bit less about my arthritic fingers (2 on each hand) & left knee, I think. Mum is in considerable pain following a total shoulder replacement and two of my three brothers have major shoulder problems themselves. One is four weeks away from major shoulder surgery himself, in view of Mum's problems, we just haven't told her about his upcoming operation.
@jextxadore You could try the Developer version of the Opera browser, it includes VPN which might work differently to your current one.
