437 km travelled today, to the funeral & back. Now resting my weary knees before going back to my aunt's place for a soup dinner with her & my Mum.
It's a shade over 200 km each way from our lodgings to the funeral location, we managed to do it with no intervening stops.
Getting a cup of tea going, that's always good.
Not used to winter in these inland cities, the overnight temps tend to be lower than the quasi-coastal zone at home despite the latter's closer proximity to the chilly Antarctic winds. Most of south-east Australia is going for between 7 & 9°C today. With showers.
@jextxadore Halfway thru the pressing, I pull back up briefly to get more air into it.

@matigo Not too bad. The osteoarthritis medication has kicked in. Plus I had one of these:

Five hours after leaving Mum's place we arrived at her sister's home. I then left Mum there & proceeded to the motel room. Enjoyed a nice AeroPress coffee. Some ablutions then off to collect Mum & aunt for dinner in some nice eatery. We spent 4 hours driving, and covered 350 km in that time.
@matigo It's doable. Recently I completed a 700 km journey in a day. My knees & back didn't like it that much, hence the 400 km per day restriction.
I'm going to that funeral on Friday. I'll be breaking the journey so I don't exceed 400 km in any one day. So it's going to be 350 km on Thursday, 400 km on Friday and 350 again on Saturday. I'm staying overnight Thursday & Friday in a reasonably cheap but really cosy motel in Mum's home town. If she's fit enough to come with me, she'll stay with her sister on the western side of that inland city.
Because of its proximity to the snowfields, today was the last chance to book a motel room for those two nights. Mum's sister has only one spare bed.
