Now I wish I hadn’t checked the weather forecast. Seems we’re not going to have a high temperature later today. It’s 5°C now at 00:47.
Maximum temp expected to be 13°.
Still two weeks shy of the official start of winter.

Was given some potatoes today, too many at Mum’s place. I’m haven’t old-fashioned chip-shop chips tonight, cooked in ghee. My late father told of the 5-pound tins of butter concentrate used in the the Army cook-houses: he reckoned it was the best chip-cooking medium. Butter concentrate is a clarified butter product that’s stable in the tropics where Dad served in WW2.
