Sounds painful.

Two replacement options for the soggy 11-in MBA envisaged: 13-in non-touchbar MacBook Pro or 13-in MacBook Air; both with 8 GB RAM &256 GB SSDs.
Both are around $200 less than rrp, with a $390 price difference between the two.
ThePro is marginally heavier but physically smaller in all dimensions & has a Retina display.

If I can get a new 13-in MacBook Pro (non-touchbar) for the price I’m looking at, there’s a suitable multi-port adaptor available on Amazon for $33 delivered. That has HDMI (4k); SD & micro-SD reader; dual USB 3 ports & dual Thunderbolt 3 ports. It connects via both built-in Thunderbolt 3 ports.

There are three stores in this town that sell Apple gear. Only one has the $200 off.
The MBP that the other person claimed was priced at $1995. The one at the Office supplier is $1977.

Office supply store seems to have 2017 MBA 13.3” & MBP 13.3” at around $200 of RRP.
Will check later.

Not mine. Other bloke claimed it.

Rotten day. MacBook Air converted itself into a MacBook Water via condensation from a thawing bag of frozen peas I’d been using as an icepack to relieve back pain incurred when providing first aid for Mum yesterday.
Uneconomical to repair, was the Apple Genius’ report after he’d opened it up.

Meanwhile, my back is no better, I’ve had to pull out of a few scheduled events tomorrow as I can’t drive the distances required.

And the last I heard of Mum is they were doing more scans for a broken ankle.

My apologies, I’d misread something from Apple about such devices, it was any MacBook BEFORE 2015 that was going to be left out.

An Apple reseller has a 2017 13-in non-touchbar MBP at a $200 discount. Trouble is, it’s currently on offer to someone else. That other person has been dicking about as to wheter to get it or not. He has until 5pm tonight to decide. It’s mine if he doesn’t want it.

Not happy. I’ve killed my MacBook Air with liquid damage. Got a Genius appointment at my local Apple Store in 2 hours.

The bag of frozen peas I used to fix my sore back overnight was discarded on top of the iPad which was on top of the closed laptop. Condensation dripped off the bag and wicked into the bottom of the laptop.
