There's a frozen food factory in this suburb. They have a seconds shop for stuff that's not suitable for sale thru the regular grocery stores. Reasons: the items might lack a particular ingredient, they might be over or underweight, unevenly distributed in the container, be packaged in a box intended for a different product or just oversupplied.
Whatever the reason, I can get fresh or frozen meals or soups for about 30% of retail and pizzas for 20% of retail price.
They also make several different pasta sauces.
Tonight I had spaghetti carbonara that was missing the expected amount of bacon. I added some alfredo flavouring mix my brother makes at (and smuggles out of) a different food additive factory. That made for an extra thick & creamy/cheesy sauce, in part offsetting the dearth of bacon.
A tasty, filling meal for under $3. I paid $25 the other day for four fresh meals and five frozen ones. Good value.
