@kdfrawg With the recent closure of two major fruit canneries in the last few years, the supply of clingstone peaches is quite limited. That's the variety that was supplied for canning. A big yellow/gold peach that resembled an overgrown apricot in appearance. They're still available in season, but in a selected few retailers.
