Yesterday I collected a small box of mixed vegetables from a non-profit produce market operator. You can get four different sized boxes from small ($20); medium ($30); large ($40) or extra large ($60). You have no say in the contents other than choosing fruit & veg; veg-only or fruit-only. They also have free-range eggs.
I chose vegetables-only, here’s what was in it: carrots, corn, capsicum, turnip, potatoes, sweet potato, cucumber, tomato, leek, onion, parsnip, zucchinis, eggplant, cauliflower & cabbage. I also added a dozen 50 gram eggs.
The photo shows all but the eggs, they’re hiding under the cabbage & cauliflower. All produce is top quality, no 2nd-grade supermarket rejects here. Later today I’ll be making a big pot of vegetable soup, once I get some celery to add to the mix.
