I cooked a big batch of mostly vegetable soup tonight. The non-veg components are chicken stock and diced bacon. After the rest was cooked I added about 350 grams of rinsed and drained sauerkraut with the excess moisture squeezed out of it. Just tastes like shredded cabbage. One ingredient lacking is diced or shredded chicken meat, that will be added tomorrow, after I buy what’s colloquially known as a “bachelor’s handbag,” a roasted whole chicken in a plastic bag with a wooden handle across the top.
