I acquired a G3 Pismo PowerBook from a friend a few years ago, it was a bit wonky, would only boot from external drives do to some unexplained internal fault. I use a FireWire CF card reader with Tiger & OS 9 on a 32 GB CF card.
Same friend has just contacted me offering another Pismo in better condition with a working HD & a Belkin WiFi card that fits the same slot as the standard AirPort card but is a faster connection.
I love the Pismos, you can have batteries in either the left or right multi-use bays (or in both bays). Various other drives swap in and out (left-side bay only) so you can choose between CD, DVD, Floppy Disk or zip-drive as needed. Assuming you actually have such drives.
It's fitted with a 500 MHz G3 processor & 1 GB of RAM, plus it has a proper keyboard.
