That previous post was via Blurbybot. I'm impressed.

Mum’s 86th birthday today. She’s alone now, so I’m spending the day with her. Two of her friends will be bringing lunch in an hour or so, I’ll prepare a chicken curry & noodles dish for myself.

AeroPress experience at Mum's place is different to mine at home because Mum's using the last of the extra-strong Witches Brew from Coffeeworks in northern Queensland while I'm using a milder blend from the same source. I also use bigger cups. The pic shows my current brew at home.

Started doing a surface scan with Tech Tool Pro on an external drive connected to the MacBook Pro which, as an older model, has USB 2, FW 800 or Thunderbolt connections. The Thunderbolt drive interface is in use on the MBA, & a backup drive is in the FW port. TTP reported the scan was going to take over 2 hours.
Out comes the secret weapon: a Kanex Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet/USB 3 adaptor.

With the drive connected via that interface, the test time was cut to 20 minutes.

Mine, I suspect. One of my invitations was redeemed 24 minutes ago. One supplied didn't work.

I spotted a three hour break.

I may have certain perversions (who hasn't?) but fisting pigs isn't on the list………………………………

Why I love the metric system.
Needing to mix 300 ml in total, consisting of 150 ml of auto transmission fluid & 150 ml of acetone but I don't have a small enough graduated measure. So I used my electronic kitchen scale with an unmarked pouring cup. Set the tare to zero, add 150 grams of water & mark the level with a pen. I now have a pouring cup with a 150 ml measure marked on it.

For a change!
