Decision made. For $222 less than Apple’s recommended retail price, I’m getting a 2017 non-touchbar 13.3-in MacBook Pro. An office supply store has limited quantities available, and since there’s an outlet in this town I’ve gone that way.
I bought some Thunderbolt 3 & USB-C adaptors for the iMac but it can get by without them. They’ll be used until the 7-port Thunderbolt 3 hub arrives. This hub has 2 x USB 3 ports; HDMI for video; SD & microSD card slots, USB-C & Thunderbolt 3 pass-through for charging.
It connects to both of the Mac’s Thunderbolt 3 ports.
This is the model of Mac that Apple wants users to consider as the upgrade to a MacBook Air. For once I agree.
