One of several afflictions I endure is Raynaud's Syndrome, a circulatory issue whereby nerve spasms constrict the capillaries feeding blood to my toes. It can also affect hands and fingers but in my case, only the toes. The affected areas turn white and feel exceptionally cold, not ideal in winter. In mild cases massaging the feet is effective but I get best relief from heat, either from hot water immersion or some form of heat pack.
My latest approach are some fluffy microwaveable booties: 90 seconds in the microwave on the highest setting gives around 20 minutes of heat/warmth all over my feet. Hot water bottles work but two are needed, one under and one over the top of the affected foot.
If nothing else is available a towel soaked in hot water is effective too. Currently it's past 2:30 am and an episode of the syndrome has woken me from my slumber. It's a mild case so massage is all I need for relief.
