One of the fellows in the Men's Shed group was reminiscing about his late father's naval service in WW2 for the British Royal Navy & subsequent service with the Royal Australian Navy when he came out here with his family. He'd been a gunnery Chief Petty Officer in the RAN & a Petty Officer in the RN.
He had the dubious distinction in his wartime service of having every vessel he'd ever served on sunk by enemy action, either while he was on board or after he'd been posted to another vessel.
Then Graham, another fellow asked for the father's name. He said "I do believe he was one of the gunnery instructors I had when in service with the RAN during the Vietnam conflict."
Such a small world.
